Urban Youth Adventures

Hello friends and supporters,

Thank you everyone who has supported Urban Youth Adventures through volunteering or through generous donations. Also thank you all those with whom we collaborated and those who have been our friends.

The past year has seen a significant decline in our financial resources. The first big crunch came in the fall. As a team we decided to reduce staff in half. That allowed us to continue running programs through the fall. In December staffing was further reduced. Programs were continued through the winter and spring with the continued help of great volunteers, including very dedicated former employees.

In the spring I transitioned the organization toward closure. I spoke with other organizations that might take over our programs and resources. These discussions continue. At this point several organizations – particularly Floodgates Worship Centre, Deliverance Centre and potentially Teen Challenge – are stepping into the gap. Also, former staff and volunteers carry on with the relationships and a few of the programs.

Although the organizational part of UYA is coming to an end, the relationships, life changes and other initiatives carry on. Thank you for your partnership with us in bringing dreams into reality – by moving them from wishful thinking to real, life-changing hope.
