Our Community
UYA has produced some research and writing and has partnered with others in putting on events. Our Press Room has more information plus downloads and links.
Partnering with other community organizations is a core value of UYA. For example, we offer music and boxing in conjunction with several North End schools and cycling, cheerleading and soon boxing in conjunction with a community resource centre.
Program Monitoring takes place through wrap-up times with volunteers and staff, where we evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and their impact on the youth and families. We also actively seek input from the youth, parents and others in the community.
Enhancing the community is another core value. For example, Ogijita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin has been engaged to do some of the renovations at our future home - 607 Selkirk Ave. Also one of our core programs is focused on helping youth become positive contributors to and leaders in the community.
